City of Irving Code Compliance
The following city codes were implemented in 2006:

Residents are limited to 2 garage sales a year. No garage sale shall exceed 72 consecutive hours in duration. A permit is required to hold a garage sale

Tenants are responsible for keeping their property and adjacent alley free of litter. Also, items not normally stored outside that not resistant to exposure, cannot be place outside for storage, with the exception of lawn furniture, children’s toys or landscaping items.

Tenants are responsible for keeping weeds and grass cut and less than 10 inches high. Violations may result in a charge for mowing services and a $350 administration fee.

Junk vehicles are not allowed on residential properties. Junk vehicles are any vehicles which are inoperative, partially dismantled or having expired licence tags or inspection stickers.

Vehicles, boats, trailers or camper tops cannot be parked on the grass, but parked on a paved surface which is continuously connected to a street, alley or driveway.
- The following commercial vehicles are not allowed to be parked in residential neighborhoods: Buses, truck tractors, tow trucks, cargo vans, bobtails, commercial vehicles over 1 1/2 tons and flatbed trucks over 20 feet in length.
- Trash cannot be put out on the curb earlier than 6pm the day prior to trash pickup.
- Temporary signs cannot be posted on lightposts and street signs. Temporary signs can only be posted from noon on Friday to noon on Monday.
- Fences must be maintained. A permit may be required prior to repairing.
- Teen curfew is in affect for children under 17. Mon-Fri (Mid -6am) Sat-Sun (1am-6am)
